THE LAST DAYS OF DOO WOP!

DOO WOP ALERT!
People of the world.......I went out to the Stoneham Theatre in Stoneham, MA this past Sunday night and saw a fabulous musical show called
“THE LAST DAYS OF DOOWOP”. It’s about a period of time around 1965 when doo-wop music was fading due to the invasion from England by those singing mop tops the Beatles and Rolling Stones etc. The story line is really interesting and the acapella harmony outstanding. There were three different doowop groups on the stage performing at different times and were call the Vendettas, the Jewels and the Doorays. Also a single performer named Buddy Light who did a spectacular Jackie Wilson impression.
Part of the story line is that they are trying to win a contest sponsored by a local radio station and if they win they get to be the opening act for the big Oldies Show coming to town. If you’re a doowop fan you won’t be disappointed, believe me! Also I might add there are some really funny lines in the musical that will have you laughing your *** off. For ticket information call the Theatre at 781-279-2200 or visit www.stonehamtheatre.org.
I will be having the writer and Director of the show Richie Willis as a guest on the Rockin’ Richard radio show Wednesday 10am to 1pm at www.wnhu.net east coast time zone. I will also play songs from the THE LAST DAYS OF DOOWOP.
