Male Pedestrian, 62, Hit By Pickup Tuesday, Critically Injured: Police

​At around 2:30 p.m., North Branford police & fire departments were called to the Central Plaza lot for a car v. pedestrian crash.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — A 62-year-old man was struck by a pickup truck in a plaza parking lot Tuesday, police said.

At around 2:30 p.m., North Branford police and fire departments were called to the Central Plaza parking lot, 280 Branford Road, for a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash, police said.

When they got there, they found the man who'd be hit after walking out of a plaza business, police said.

Emergency responders "immediately performed life-saving measures," police said, adding he was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The South Central Regional Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and will be assisting in this ongoing investigation. The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information which can assist law enforcement, they are encouraged to contact the North Branford Police Department at 204-484-2703.
