NB Closer to Free - 2nd Annual Fundraiser

NB Closer To Free is a non-profit organization inspired by the Sobask family and their desire to help other local families going through a battle with cancer. They experienced the unthinkable. At the age of 8 Cathy and Ray’s son, RJ, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his brain, which was removed that day with emergency surgery. 6 years later he remains cancer free. They are so grateful for RJ’s recovery and the help and support that got him and the family through a tremendously difficult time that they remain dedicated to helping others who face similar hardship.

NB Closer to Free is conducting its second annual campaign drive and will direct all of its support, this year, to helping the North Branford community and families that have a loved one fighting cancer. Its mission is for “Neighbors helping Neighbors” through an immensely difficult time. “We will continue to do fundraising with all monies raised going directly to families who are fighting cancer,” says Cathy Sobask. “And, not only will we help financially, we will also be organizing volunteers to provide assistance for everyday needs. We will send helping hands to a family’s home to take care of chores and small projects.” If your family or someone you know, has a member that is battling cancer just contact Cathy Sobask at csobask@yahoo.com. Plus, we will be holding our second annual benefit at Doody’s on May 24th, 2015. If you would like to get involved, here are several ways to help:

1. Enjoy dinner at Doody’s, Sunday, May 24th, 3-8 pm. 20% of check (food portion) will go to local families in need.
