North Branford 1st Responders Resuscitate Unresponsive 9-Month-Old: PD

Using life-saving measures, firefighters, police, and medics worked together Monday to resuscitate the baby, who was then hospitalized.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — North Branford police, firefighters, and paramedics worked as a team Monday to save the life of a nine-month-old baby.

According to the North Branford Police Department, a 911 call was received early Monday for an "unresponsive" baby.

As first responders headed to the call, police wrote on Facebook, dispatcher Zercie "provided pre-arrival CPR instructions to the caller."

North Branford Fire Chief Anthony Esposito and North Branford police officer Timothy Cunningham got to the location at the same time and found that the unresponsive infant, "had a bluish color," police wrote.

"These first responders immediately initiated CPR and life-saving measures," it was noted. Moments later, North Branford Fire Department Co. 1 fire department medics arrived "and provided advanced life support."

The baby was resuscitated and transported to Yale New Haven Hospital Pediatric division.

"We are grateful for the heroic efforts of all the first responders involved in this incident," police wrote on Facebook. Praised were the town's Communications Department, Police Department, Fire Department and its EMS.
