North Branford High School Celebrates Excellence at Academic Awards

On May 26, North Branford High School honored those students who have distinguished themselves academically.

On May 26, honored those students who distinguished themselves during the past year at the . The ceremony, which took place in the auditorium, lasted about one hour and the Select Chorus opened with a performance of "The Star Spangled Banner." Family, friends and students filled the space to cheer on these award recipients.

Awards where given out by each department–English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, World Language, Business and Careers, Physical Education, Health Education, Music and Art.

In addition, NBHS also handed out special awards from various community groups and organizations, recognizing student achievement and academic excellence including The Yale Club of New Haven, The Connecticut American Legion Auxiliary, Governor’s Scholar Program, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Society of Women Engineers, The Wendy’s High School Heisman Awards Program, The Sons of the American Revolution, U. S. Marin Corps, U.S. Air Force, the Connecticut Association of Schools, U. S. Army Reserve and the New Haven Register.
