North Branford High School Inducts Alumni Into Athletic Hall of Fame
Alumni of North Branford High School celebrate the inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame induction.
Hundreds gathered at Wood Winds in Branford for the first induction ceremony of the North Branford High School Athletic Hall Of Fame. The gifted athletes were chosen by a committee and ranged from the class of '66 to the class of '00.
Those inducted were Rose D’Amato (Class of '66), Michael Graham (Class of '71), Cathy Volpe (Class of '78), Dave Christoforo (Class of '84), Bob Batick (Class of '87), Chris Woodman (Class of '89), Sasha Scott (Class of '99) and Chris Tracz (Class of '00). Coaches Sandra Chadeayne Meehan (1964-1971) and Dan Sherban (1973-1994) were also inducted along with Dan Rogers, who was given an honorary award for his contributions to NBHS athletics. "It's awesome, it really is," said Sasha Scott, who played volleyball, basketball and softball at NBHS and was the first female T-Bird to go to All-State in all three sports the same year. She now teaches high school biology in California where she coaches volleyball and lacrosse. "I'm excited. It's great to see all of these people who came out: teachers and coaches I used to have here in North Branford and old friends. I'm honored."
