North Branford Libraries Offer Trivia, Narcan Training And Closures

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — North Branford Public Libraries have a busy spring of May and June events and announcements, both virtually and in-person.

• On Friday, May 20, the Atwater Library Community Room will be the host for the library's inaugural "Trivia Night."
Registration closes right before the event, which will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library.
"Test your trivia knowledge and see if you're smarter than a librarian," reads an announcement of the program. "It's the perfect time to enjoy a fun evening with friends and music."
Teams of participants will be accepted, but no more than six per team.

• On May 24, the town's library services will host a virtual Zoom event from 6 to 8 p.m. on how and when people can use Narcan, an antidote drug that can save lives that otherwise would be lost due to an opioid overdose.
"Individuals who complete Narcan training are allowed to possess and administer Narcan to a person having an overdose," reads a library announcement on the program.
Participants can steam the Zoom at home or watch a livestream of the program from the Atwater Memorial Library's community room.

• On Monday, June 6, the Atwater Memorial Library and the Edward Smith Library will be closed for a bit for staff development, but it is expected to reopen at 1 p.m. that day.
