North Branford Man Charged In Connection With 2024 Café Burglary: PD

After a months-long North Branford police investigation John Chaski, 56, already in jail​ on an unrelated burglary charge, was arrested.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT —In mid-December of 2024, the North Branford Police Department was called to a reported burglary at Central Café at 280 Branford Road.

Thursday, police said that "after months of extensive investigative work (and) unwavering dedication," North Branford police detectives submitted and saw approved an arrest warrant in connection with the case.

John Chaski, 56, who was already in jail on an unrelated burglary charge, was arrested and is now facing four charges in connection with the Central Café burglary, police said.

He is charged with second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. Chaski appeared in court Thursday, police said.

In a post to Facebook, police wrote: "We extend our gratitude to the investigating officer, all the officers who assisted, and the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office for their partnership and commitment to this case."
