North Branford Man Stole Nearly $200K Worth Of Seafood: Hamden PD

The assistant manager of a fish market in Hamden has been arrested following an extensive investigation, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — The assistant manager of a fish market in Hamden is accused of stealing nearly $200,000 worth of seafood over the past several years, according to police. The owner of #1 Fish Market, located at 2239 State Street, reported to police on April 28 that approximately $200,000 worth of seafood has been stolen from his business during the past few years, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that Lance Graver, the assistant manager, would arrive at work early on Monday mornings and steal approximately $800 worth of seafood. Graver would place the stolen seafood inside of his vehicle and then work his assigned day, according to Smith.

Graver told police that he stole $800 worth of seafood, once a week for four years, Smith said.

Det. Donald Remillard conducted an extensive investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Graver.

Graver, 57, of Branford Road in North Branford, was arrested Oct. 25 on a charge of first-degree larceny. Graver is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 8.
