North Branford Mill Rate Increased

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — The town's finance board set the 2017-2018 mill rate at 33.51, which is a 4.7 percent tax increase and a mill increase of 1.53.

North Branford officials are still waiting to see what the state does in terms of aid, according to Zip 06.

The most drastic plan would call for a 2.85 mill rate increase if the state cuts aid by $3.1 million.

Voters in a May referendum overwhelmingly said the budget proposal was too high, but turnout was below the 15 percent margin for it to be taken up by the town council.
