North Branford Nursing Home Fined by State: Report
The facility is one of four in Connecticut to recently receive a penalty.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — North Branford-based Evergreen Woods Health Center nursing home was fined more than $1,600 by the state for lapses in care in 2015 and 2016 that resulted in injuries to two patients, reports Connecticut Health I-Team.
The state Department of Public Health said the facility's lapses resulted in one patient breaking their arm and wrist when they fell in a parking lot, and another patient suffered a scalp laceration when they fell out of bed. A total of four nursing homes in Connecticut were recently fined by the state.
A spokesperson for Evergreen Woods told the publication that the facility's primary goal is providing the highest quality care possible, and it has implemented enhanced audits to ensure that such care is given.
