North Branford Police Advising Motorists To Avoid Section of Route 17 After Road Closure Due To Downed Tree

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — North Branford police are advising motorists to avoid Middletown Avenue between Maltby Lane and Northford Center. The roadway is closed due to a large tree blocking passage.

Police said drivers should use Old Post Road as a detour.

"Utility crews are currently on scene working to safely remove the tree and reopen the roadway," police said. "Please avoid the area if possible and allow crews the space they need to work safely."

Police will provide updates as soon as the roadway is reopened on Facebook.

"Please drive safely and expect delays in the area," police said.
