North Branford Police Identify Victim Of Fatal Weekend Hit & Run
The investigation continues after Douglas Clark, 52, of North Branford was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Branford Road early Saturday.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT —Douglas Clark, 52, of North Branford has been identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash in the early morning hours last Saturday on the Branford Road, police said.
Police had reported that the North Branford 911 Center got a call altering them to a body in front of 27 Branford Road. In what was then a preliminary investigation, police said the person, now known to be Clark, was struck by a vehicle that fled. Police said at the time that the car should have front right damage to the bumper, hood, and windshield.
Tuesday morning, police announced "with deep sadness," that Clark was the victim, according got a news release from North Branford Deputy Chief of Police James Lovelace.

"Our heart and deepest sympathy go out to Douglas family, friends and all who knew him," Lovelace wrote.
Lovelace said that North Branford police "continue to work around the clock investigating this tragedy" and have gotten "numerous leads" that they are "vigorously pursuing."
