North Branford Police Remind, Caution, Drivers To Slow Down, Stop For Buses As School Begins Wednesday

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — In a social media post, the North Branford Police Department reminded, and cautioned, motorists that Wednesday is the first day of school and drivers are expected to "slow down." And importantly, stop for school buses with their red stop sign lights.

"The first day of school is Wednesday, August 26th.As our students head back to the classroom, we’re asking everyone to do one simple thing: SLOW DOWN!"

Police said motorists should "expect school buses to be making frequent stops."

"Expect children walking and biking. Expect increased traffic around our schools.

"The North Branford Police Department will be out helping keep our students, families, bus drivers, and school staff safe as the new school year begins," police said. "Let’s work together to make the first day a safe one. Welcome back, North Branford!"
