North Branford Social Service Operation Fuel

Operation Fuel is available to North Branford residents begining July 13 for help with utility costs.

Operation Fuel Summer Program is now available. You must meet the criteria below. This program will run until all funds are exhausted or until October 30, 2015, whichever comes first.

GUIDELINES:

1. Apply with North Branford Social Service by appointment

2. Program begins July 13, 2015

3. You must be collecting unemployment or exhausted your unemployment or;

4. Utility service is needed to refrigerate medicine or formula or;

5. Utility service is needed for medical equipment or;

6. Household gross income is within 60% of STATE median income and;

7. Has not received an Operation fuel grant in the previous 12 months and;

8. Must have made 4 payments to the utility in the last 12 months, one during the winter moratorium. Cannot make all payments in one month. There must be a pattern, and

9. Must have a shut off notice or be 30 days late

DOCUMENTS NEEDED:

1. Your most current electric or natural gas bill showing either a shut off notice or that you are 30 days late

2. Proof of gross income for each household member for 4 weeks prior to date of application

3. Proof of the last 12 months payment history to the utility company (printout from your vendor, printout of payment history if you pay online, cancelled checks, payment documentation on the bill)
