North Branford Teen Building Press Box For Sports Programs

A North Branford teen has started a GoFundMe to support a project to build a press box at North Branford High School's football field.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — A North Branford teen pursuing his Eagle Scout ranking is building a press box to help support youth sports programs. Life Scout and Senior Patrol Leader Zachary Chittenden has started a GoFundMe to support the project.

Chittenden played both youth football and baseball. He said the Wall Field was his favorite place to play as there was a press box with an announcer. He wants to build a press box for the North Branford Football Field, as he is fond memories of playing at Wall Field for that reason.

"The music and commentary made games feel like they were more than just Little League games. I felt like I was in the big leagues," he wrote on the GoFundMe. "Even the crowd seemed louder at these games, everyone's excitement was elevated...

"For this reason, I decided to dedicate my project to helping these Youth Programs by building a press box at the Youth Football Field. This project has been a journey itself."

He is seeking funds for supplies for the project. So far, he has raised $640 of a $7,000 goal.
