North Branford Troop Celebrates 100 Years of Girl Scouts
A North Branford Brownie troop attended the Town Council meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA.

The North Branford Town Council had a special group of visitors during the March 6 meeting as six troop members were present to hear a special proclamation in honor of the 100-year anniversary of Girl Scouts of the United States.
According to the proclamation, (see the full petition in the attached PDF), March 12, 1912 marked the first Girl Scout meeting, which was held in Savannah, Georgia.
The proclamation concludes by stating: "Girl Scouts develops girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place in accordance with its mission..."
