Obituary: Alfred John “Bingy” Schettino, of North Branford

Prioir to his retirement, he was a liquor and tobacco salesman for many years. He was the former president of the Paradise Country Club.

Alfred John “Bingy” Schettino died on Friday May 18, 2018 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of Theresa Pelligrino Schettino of North Branford. He was the father of Mark Schettino (Lori), Gary F. Schettino (Annette) and Rick Schettino (Mary).

He was the brother of Lorraine Lupi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gregory, Michael, Christopher, and Anthony Schettino and Louis, Kelly, and Allison Apuzzo, and several nieces and nephews. Alfred was born in New Haven on April 3, 1934, a son of Frederick and Rose Pullano. Prioir to his retirement, he was a liquor and tobacco salesman for many years. He was the former president of the Paradise Country Club in Hamden. He was a fan of the New York Giants and enjoyed his trips to Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Foxon. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in East Haven. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 P.M. at the W.S.
