Obituary: Frank C. Adams Jr., 75

He retired after 33 years in the North Branford School System where he taught history for 27 years & six years as Assistant Superintendent.

Frank C. Adams Jr., 75, of Wallingford, died Monday, May 28, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Lois E. (Riccio) Adams for 48 years. He was born in New Haven, November 5, 1942, a son of the late Frank C. Adams Sr., and Jayne (Bokowski) Adams and received his Bachelors, Masters and Administrative degrees from Southern Connecticut State University.

He retired after 33 years of service to the North Branford School System where he taught history for 27 years and spent the last six years as Assistant Superintendent. Frank served a term on the Wallingford Town Council and then went on to the Sound School in New Haven as an outside contractor to help with staff development, grant applications and administration. He was very proud to be there to help the Amistad program come to fruition.

Frank was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church. He was a certified Hospice Volunteer for Masonicare and involved with the Men’s Fellowship of the North Haven Congregational Church. Nothing came before his love of the NY Yankees and UConn besides his family.

Frank is survived by his three children, Kim Herter and her husband Joseph of Ashland, MA, Kerri Funaro and her husband James of Wallingford, and Frank Adams III and his wife Bernadette of Old Saybrook; his six grandchildren who he adored, Connor, Aidan, Luke, Quinn, Cameron and Dylan; his sister, Noreen Adams of West Haven; his brother-in-law, John Riccio; his sister-in-law, Patricia Riccio; and many nieces and nephews.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12 p.m. directly Most Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Gifts in his memory may be sent to Master’s Manna, 428 S. Cherry St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
