Obituary: George A. Duenkel, 71, of North Branford
A years-long carpenter and machinist, he was an artist who loved music, fishing, hunting, and camping with family and friends.

George A. Duenkel, 71, of North Branford passed peacefully at Connecticut Hospice on February 22, 2023. He was born in New Haven on May 22, 1951 to Albert and Bernice (Pniewski) Duenkel. George is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marcia (Blossom) Duenkel; daughters; Kate Gustavson (Vincent) of Branford, and Emily Duenkel of North Branford; three grandchildren, Vincent Gustavson, Jocelyn Gustavson, and Henry Gustavson all of Branford and his mother in Law, Elaine Blossom. He also leaves behind his siblings, Paul Duenkel of Clinton, Judi Becker (Fred) of Saratoga, CA, and Conrad Duenkel (Elizabeth) of New Haven as well as many loved and cherished nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his two brothers, Albert Duenkel Jr., and Edmund Duenkel.
George graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1969 and was employed as a carpenter for many years. He went on to work as a machinist until his retirement. He was an artist and loved music, fishing, hunting, and camping with family and friends. He was a member of the North Branford Congregational Church.

A memorial service was held at the North Branford Congregational Church Monday morning. A private burial will take place at a later date.
