Obituary: Helen Marie Reed Wojciechowski of North Branford

While raising her three children Helen worked as a legal secretary in New Haven and then as a secretary for the U. S. Postal Service.

Helen Marie Reed Wojciechowski of North Branford died peacefully with family at her side on Monday December 10, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of Richard Wojciechowski. Helen was born In New Haven on April 8, 1935, daughter of the late Raymond and Anna O’Neil Reed, and grew up in Branford.

While raising her three children Helen worked as a legal secretary in New Haven and then as a secretary for the U. S. Postal Service in New Haven and Wallingford for many years until retiring.

She and her husband loved the seashore and spent many vacations in Ogunquit, ME and Cape Cod over the years. Gardening and knitting were a few her favorite past times. She knit family and friends the most beautiful sweaters, shawl, blankets, hats and scarves, all gifts of love.

She donated 100’s of items over the years to Adopt-a-Native-Elder in UT, a charity very near to her heart. Besides her husband, Helen is survived by her children, Kathleen Davis Williams of Cheshire, Steven E. (Debbie) Davis of Norway, MI and Susan Davis Feaster of Ivoryton; her grandchildren, Rebecca Feaster (Frank Aronson), Liam, Gillian, Taryn, and Conn Davis; and her great-grandson Kyle Aronson, her brother William Reed of Branford and her niece and nephew, Bridget Reed of Branford and Raymond Reed of Colorado.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter Colleen Davis and a niece, Mary Ellen Reed.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Friday morning at 11:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and may visit prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s name to Adopt-A-Native-Elder, 328 W.
