Obituary: Joan L. DeLuca, 84, of North Branford

Joan L. DeLuca, age 84 of North Branford, formerly a resident of Milford and Avon, beloved wife of the late Edward E. DeLuca, Sr., passed away October 26, 2018. Joan was born in New York City March 6, 1934, daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia Fargelli Chiarchiaro.

She is survived by her sons Edward E. DeLuca, Jr. and his spouse Edward Gallagher of New York, NY, and Gregory DeLuca and his spouse Judith Cohen of Rupert, VT, and her sister-in-law Lawrie Chiaro Smylie of Los Angeles, CA.

Besides her beloved husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Richard Chiaro. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 3, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the GlucoseZone program at Griffin Hospital c/o Griffin Hospital Development Fund, 130 Division Street, Derby, CT 06418.
