Obituary: Marie Hackett McLean (Porto Funeral Homes)
Porto Funeral Homes (East Haven/West Haven)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Marie Hackett McLean, on June 21, 2026, after a brief illness. She was 86. Wife of the late Robert J. McLean (NHFD). Beloved mother of Susan McLean (Kenneth Valente) of North Branford and Robert (Elena) McLean of Branford. Loving grandmother of Amanda and Erica McLean.
Marie was born in New Haven on May 17, 1940, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Connor Hackett and Frank and Mary Rawlick. After graduating from St. Agnes School of Nursing, she worked at St. Francis Hospital. She then dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and support. Her strength, generosity, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.
After returning to the workforce, she worked at Milford Products in Branford for many years prior to her retirement. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, nanny and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She was predeceased by her siblings, Kathleen Wilson and Peter Rawlick.

She found her greatest joy in cheering on her granddaughters, rarely missing a sporting event or horse show. She loved the simple pleasures of life — bowling nights, bingo with friends, and the occasional trip to the casino. A proud member of the Jolly Time Seniors, she embraced community and friendship wherever she went. She was also a Boston Bruins fan, supporting her team with unwavering enthusiasm.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven Friday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
