Obituary: Marie J. (DeBenedetto) McMinn, 71, of North Branford

Marie J. (DeBenedetto) McMinn, 71 of North Branford passed away February 27, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born February 17, 1952 in New Haven to the late Joseph and Josephine (Izzo) DeBenedetto. Marie is survived by her two loving and devoted children, Stacey Bowser of North Branford and Jeff McMinn (Emily) of Norwich along with one granddaughter who called her ‘MiMi”, Josephine McMinn. Marie is also survived by her sister, Theresa Weir (John) of Wallingford, nephews, Brian Weir (Julie), Kevin Weir (Tara), a niece, Jamia Weir (Ben), special cousins, Robert Barone and Deborah Barone, many great nieces/nephews/cousins and her beloved dog “Bella.”

Marie grew up in North Haven and resided in North Branford for the past 44 years. She was an avid gardener, loved to cook, go to the beach and spent her career as a CNA helping the elderly. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She cherished her family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
