CPTV Airs the Season Finale of All Things Connecticut, Featuring Stops in Scotland, New Haven and Other Connecticut Towns

HARTFORD, Conn. (March 18, 2015) – On Thursday, March 26 at 8 p.m., Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) will air the season finale of All Things Connecticut, the CPTV Original series that showcases Connecticut’s wide variety of inspiring attractions and interesting residents. Host David Bibbey travels the state, exploring Connecticut’s rich and diverse communities.
In the episode premiering March 26, David and his All Things Connecticut colleagues travel to locations in the Connecticut towns of Scotland, North Branford, New Haven and Washington. Segments featured in this episode include:

Segment One – Inspired by his Scottish heritage, David takes a ride in a motorcycle sidecar – along with a 120-pound pit bull named Harley – to Scotland, Conn. After a highland fling and a chat with some local residents, he is scooped up by his British taxi to take him to his next location, but on the way, he encounters a couple of guys who have the blues! Segment Two – Hope Looney is an inspired cake artist and owner of JCakes gourmet bakery in North Branford. She designs and bakes some of the most extraordinary custom cakes in the state, and not just for weddings and birthdays. Watch as she builds a confectionery creation to celebrate a salsa dancing champion.

Segment Three – Samuel Huntington, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a distinguished statesman during the Revolutionary War, was born in Scotland, Conn., in the Huntington Homestead. Visit this remarkably well-preserved 18th-century house – located on its original foundation and surrounded by acres of farmland – in this “Connecticut’s Cultural Treasures” segment.
Segment Four – It all started with squeezing limes for fresh margaritas on their dads’ boats. From there, childhood friends Ryan Guimond and Michel Boissy concocted their plan to create the freshest bar juice on the market. Now they have a full line of customized craft juices called RIPE Craft Bar Juice. Join Christina DeFranco for this “Made in Connecticut” segment as she visits FreshBev, Guimond and Boissy’s New Haven-based company that produces RIPE Craft Bar Juice. It’s one of only a handful of specialty juice-makers that use state-of-the-art high-pressure processing.
Segment Five – In this “Breaking Bread” segment, David enjoys his last supper of the season and bids farewell to his trusty London taxi at the White Horse Country Pub & Restaurant located in the village of Marbledale in the town of Washington. His delectable dining experience, with a menu inspired by diverse cultures, rounds out this season of All Things Connecticut perfectly.
