A golf tournament benefit will be held on July 12 in memory of the late Chef Ed to benefit his family.

Ed Slubowski, more affectionately known in town as about seven months ago on Nov. 5 after a brief illness. On July 12, the Connecticut Hackers will host a in his honor, which will help raise money for his daughter Madeline’s college education.

“He loved his family, his friends and the game of golf,” said Anthony Mascola, one of the directors of the golf tournament. “Nothing would make Ed happier than to have his family, friends, colleagues and Golf Club members spend a fun day on the golf course and enjoy a good meal to help his wife, Cathy, and daughter during this time.”

Ed was an active member of the Connecticut Hackers Golf Club, along with Mascola. The two were childhood friends and most recently, Mascola was one of the food suppliers for where Ed was the food service director.
