Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center is bringing the magic of The Great White Way to Connecticut’s shoreline this April for its upcoming Starlight Benefit, an annual social event and fundraiser.
Scheduled for April 25 at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, the event features a Broadway theme and will include a cocktail hour, live and silent auctions, dinner, entertainment and more. Attendees are invited to come dressed as their favorite Broadway character or fitting the theme/time period of their favorite production.

Pat Souney, an award-winning director with deep ties to the shoreline theatre community, is this year’s event honoree. Among her many career highlights, Souney played a major role in the creation of the theatre arts program at Guilford High School. She has also been involved with Vista’s performing arts programs for many years, most recently having directed Vista Arts Center’s productions of The Wizard of Oz and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Funds raised during the Starlight Benefit support Vista’s many programs and services. Last year’s Western-themed event drew nearly 300 attendees and raised over $100,000, including proceeds from a special auction that benefited Vista’s Student and Member Enrichment Fund.
