Amazon Holding Hiring Event In North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A hiring event for the new Amazon fulfillment center in North Haven will be held on July 9 at North Haven High School. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the school, located at 221 Elm St. in North Haven.
Amazon announced last week that it plans to hire up to 1,800 full-time employees at the new fulfillment center in North Haven. The North Haven facility, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open this summer, will become the company's second fulfillment center in Connecticut and fourth location in the state overall.
Amazon's full-time employees receive "comprehensive benefits starting on day one, which include health, vision, dental, 401(k) with a 50 percent company match, generous maternity and family leave, and a network of support to succeed. Maternity and family leave benefits offer up to 20 weeks of paid leave, a flexible Ramp Back Program, and a Leave Share Program that allows employees the ability to share their paid leave with their spouse or partner," according to a news release.

Benefits also include innovative programs like Career Choice, which pre-pays 95 percent of tuition for employees to go back to school in fields that are in high demand, regardless of whether those skills are relevant to jobs at Amazon.
In November 2018, Amazon announced that it was increasing the minimum wage for all of its employees – fulltime, part time, and seasonal – to $15 an hour.
