NORTH HAVEN, CT — A group of five North Haven residents recently came together to launch the North Haven Arts Collaborative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering creativity, connection, and community engagement through the arts.
The group met on April 4 with a “shared vision to celebrate, support, and expand access to the arts throughout their community,” according to a news release. That meeting marked the official founding of the North Haven Arts Collaborative.
The North Haven Arts Collaborative is “focused on building a vibrant and inclusive arts culture by creating opportunities for residents of all ages to engage with the arts,” according to the news release. “Through community events and collaborative programming, the organization aims to bring people together, highlight local talent, and make the arts more visible and accessible across North Haven.”
In addition to its community-focused initiatives, the Collaborative is committed to supporting arts education by raising funds to benefit North Haven’s public schools. Those efforts will help “ensure that students have continued access to meaningful creative experiences,” according to the news release.
“Our goal is to create a vibrant and inclusive arts community,” Chair Genevieve Cabrera said. “We are committed not only to increasing visibility and access to the arts, but also to supporting arts education in our schools through dedicated fundraising efforts.”
The organization plans to partner with local artists, businesses, schools, and community groups to expand programming and outreach, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and inclusivity.
“While still in its early stages, the North Haven Arts Collaborative is energized by the opportunity to create lasting impact through a wide range of community-driven arts initiatives,” the news release states.
The organization is currently holding a logo design contest, where local artists are invited to submit designs to help create its logo.
