With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Therese Cecile Card, who entered into eternal rest at the age of 93 on July 23, 2026.
Born on May 25, 1933, in Morgan, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Telesphore and Lucia Plante Guillette.
A woman of unwavering faith, Cecile devoted her life to God, her family, and the Catholic Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her with kindness, compassion, humility, and strength. She faithfully lived the values of her Catholic faith and found great comfort in prayer and service.
She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Richard Patrick Card Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, faith, and commitment. Together they built a home centered on love, hard work, and family.
A hardworking woman throughout her life, Cecile dedicated herself to raising six wonderful children, always placing their needs above her own. She instilled in each of them the values of faith, integrity, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy was her family, and her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and all who were blessed to know and love her.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Suzanne M. Card and her wife, Jan Shepard, of Florida; Richard P. Card Jr. and his wife, Celeste Card, of Arizona; Kenneth J. Card and his wife, Michelle Card, of Florida; Wayne E. Card and his wife, Michele Card, of Connecticut; Denise E. Sousa and her husband, Robert Sousa, of Connecticut; and Lawrence T Card and his wife, Guilletta Card, of Tennessee.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Kenneth II, Zachary, Emilee, Caroline, Olivia, Sydnee, Michael, Theresa, Alexandyr, Rachel, Lauren, William, and Nathaniel, and her beloved great-grandson, Daniel, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Guillette of Seymour.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Patrick Card Sr., her beloved grandson, Richard P. Card III, and her 11 brothers and sisters.
Cecile will be remembered for her unwavering faith, tireless work ethic, gentle spirit, generous heart, and unconditional love for her family. She taught by example, showing that a life centered on faith, family, and service is a life well lived.
Although her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord and reunited with those who have gone before her.
May she rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
