Lane Closures Announced For Milling, Resurfacing Project In North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect for a milling and resurfacing project in Hamden and North Haven over the next few months.

The project will be performed on Whitney Avenue (Service Road 707) in Hamden and North Haven.

The project is scheduled to start on Sunday, Aug. 16, and be completed on Friday, Oct. 9, according to an advisory.

The project "consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.23-mile segment of Service Road 707 (Whitney Ave) in Hamden and North Haven from the New Haven town line to 0.01 miles north of Millbrook RD in Hamden," officials wrote in the advisory.

Milling by Tilcon is scheduled to begin on Sunday, Aug.16, to Tuesday, Sept. 1. The resurfacing segment of the project by Tilcon is expected to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 1, to Friday, Oct. 9, according to the advisory.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Service Road 707 (Whitney Ave) from the New Haven town line to Route 15. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday Night to Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
