NORTH HAVEN, CT — A man is facing child pornography charges in North Haven, according to police.
Police began an investigation into the distribution of child sexual abuse material July 9. A person told police that a client of a local business had used a shared electronic link to upload a video depicting child sexual abuse material.
Daniel Milbrandt, 53, of Bristol, was identified as the person responsible, police said.
Police searched Milbrandt's home Tuesday morning. He was then taken into custody.
Milbrandt was charged with third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material. Bond was set at $75,000.
"The North Haven Police Department has zero tolerance for crimes involving the victimization of children and will continue to dedicate every available resource toward identifying offenders, protecting victims, and holding those responsible accountable," police said.
The North Haven Police Department has detectives assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a collaborative partnership of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating the online exploitation of children, identifying offenders, rescuing victims and preventing technology-facilitated crimes against children.
