Lane Closures Announced For Milling, Resurfacing Project In North Haven

The project is expected to take place over several weeks, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect for a milling and resurfacing project in New Haven and North Haven starting in September.

The project will be performed on Route 17 in New Haven and North Haven.

The project is scheduled to start on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and be completed on Friday, Oct. 2, according to an advisory.

The project consists of "milling and resurfacing a 2.79-mile segment of Route 17 in New Haven and North Haven from Route 80 in New Haven to Spring Road in North Haven," officials wrote in the advisory.

Milling by Tilcon is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to Friday, Sept. 18. The resurfacing segment of the project by Tilcon is expected to begin on Sunday, Sept. 20, to Friday, Oct. 2, according to the advisory.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 17 from Route 80 in New Haven to Spring Road in North Haven. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday Night to Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
