• Amazon seeks to do 365,000 drone package deliveries a year in CT. Here's where and how. (courant.com) — Amazon is seeking approval to run up to 365,000 Prime Air drone deliveries a year from a new hub at 409 Washington Ave. in North Haven, with flights reaching addresses within about seven miles. Drones would operate daily from early morning to late evening, dropping small packages from about 13 feet up, and local zoning officials have already approved the site plan for the facility.
• Amazon Boosts Starting Minimum Wage (cbia.com) — Amazon is raising its U.S. starting wage for operations workers to at least $20 an hour, a change that will affect employees at its North Haven fulfillment center. With average hourly compensation expected to top $32 including benefits, the company is also rolling out new grocery discounts and a banking benefit, potentially improving pay and perks for many Connecticut workers.
