NORTH HAVEN, CT — The warning phase for automated speed cameras in two school zones in North Haven is set to begin on Monday, according to police.
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, police said the town's Automated Traffic Enforcement Safety Device (ATESD) program will start a 30-day warning period.
The devices are near Ridge Road School and North Haven Middle School, according to police.
"There is posted signage at all locations advising motorists," police wrote in a post on Facebook. "Locations of these devices have also been sent to traffic navigation apps to alert motorists driving in the area. The Town wants you to know about these, because we want you to slow down.
"During the warning period, drivers who exceed the posted speed limit by 11mph or more will receive warnings only, with no fines. Please slow down, obey the posted limits, and help keep our students safe!"
