NORTH HAVEN, CT — A new ranch with views across the region from the Blue Hills tops North Haven's most expensive homes for sale on Zillow.com. The list also includes a 1932 house built for the president of the old Southern New England Telephone Co. and an 1808 home rebuilt down to the studs.
No. 1 on the list is 216 Kings Highway, Lot 3, a custom ranch to be built in The Views at Kings Highway, a five-home subdivision in the Blue Hills area. It's listed at $1,425,000. The 3,140-square-foot plan on 0.92 acres has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, all on one level, with sweeping views and distant water views, according to the listing. It hit Zillow three days ago.
Two homes are tied for No. 2 at $1,250,000. 1191 Ridge Road is a 1932 house designed by architect Douglas Orr and built for the president of SNET, the Southern New England Telephone Co., according to the listing. The whitewashed brick house sits well back from the street on 1.15 acres and has 3,915 square feet, five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It has been on Zillow for 45 days.
The other is a farmhouse-style new home planned at 50 Pond Hill Road, on 5 acres. Zillow lists the plan at 3,595 square feet, and the listing says about 3,545, with four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, classic gables and a covered front porch. It has been on Zillow for seven days.
No. 4 is 3 Potter Road, an 1808 house renovated down to the studs, which hit Zillow three days ago at $989,000. The 3,274-square-foot home has five bedrooms and four full bathrooms on 0.66 acres, with new landscaping and a newly paved driveway.
Closing out the top five is 25 Clintonville Road, an 1882 house that has been fully renovated and expanded, listed at $950,000 after a $50,000 price cut on Sept. 13. The 4,912-square-foot home has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half bathroom on 0.55 acres. Its centerpiece is a great room addition with 10-foot ceilings, cherry floors and a granite fireplace. It has been on Zillow for 95 days.
