Bank Robber Turns Onto Dead End Road, Gets Arrested: Police

Police say the man was taken into custody after turning onto a dead end road while leading officers on a chase in a Mercedes in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A suspected bank robber was arrested after turning onto a dead end road while engaging police in a pursuit in a Mercedes Thursday morning in North Haven. At about 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 15, police say a man entered the TD Bank on Washington Avenue with a shirt covering his face. The man implied a weapon was in his pocket and demanded money, according to police.

The man left the bank with less than $1,000 in cash and responding North Haven officers saw a white Mercedes fleeing the area at a high rate of speed, according to police. Police attempted to stop the car, but the driver increased speed.

Following a pursuit, the suspect vehicle turned down a dead end road and was surrounded by North Haven Police, according to police. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. To sign up for North Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Bryan Wolfe, 27, of North Haven, was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, first-degree threatening, engaging officers in pursuit and reckless driving. He is being held on a $100,000 bond and will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 16.
