Bear Spotted Near Center Of Town: North Haven Police
Animal Control officers have responded to several reports of a bear sighting in North Haven, according to police.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — Several bear sightings have been reported in North Haven on Tuesday, according to police. North Haven Animal Control officers have responded to several reports of a bear sighting with the latest at about 1 p.m. saying that the bear is on Maple Avenue near the center of town, according to police.
Police are asking anyone who sees the bear in a populated area to call the Animal Control officers at 203-239-5321.
Police also offered the following tips since "we have a bear cutting through the center of town."

"Remove any birdfeeders from your property," police said. "Ensure garbage is properly packaged when put outdoors. Look first prior to letting pets outside.
"When our Animal Control Officers respond to reports of bear sittings, they typically attempt to scare the bear away from any populated area. We do not harm, or attempt to capture the bears."
