Boat Capsizes, 2 Rescued In River In North Haven
Two people were found safe after the boat they were in capsized in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Two people were found safe after the boat they were in capsized in the Quinnipiac River Saturday in North Haven. Emergency crews responded to a report that two people were in a boat that capsized in the Quinnipiac River behind the ULTA store on Universal Drive.
The North Haven Fire Department deployed its boat into the river and searched the water for the people.
“The boat and the boaters were eventually located in the water in the State Street area,” North Haven Police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The investigation determined the boat capsized near Universal Drive and due to the Quinnipiac River’s strong current, it moved them from Universal Drive, all the way past the Sackett Point Road boat launch, to the State Street area where they were found. The boaters were located safe without any injuries.”
