FITWEEK Launches in Greater New Haven
FITWEEK is a Greater New Haven week-long fitness event that rallies community members around finding physical activities that fits their lifestyle!

This is a new weeklong event taking place October 1-7, 2012 throughout Greater New Haven. We want people to find out what FITness activity FITs for them! All types of physical activities will be available for you to try!

Join us for a preview of FITWEEK at On9 New Haven on Friday, September 7 at 6pm!
Festivities will kick off at Pitkin Plaza (located near the corner of Orange Street and Chapel Street by O’Toole’s, Devil’s Gear Bike Shop, and Elm City Market).
On Friday, September 7, start signing up for free access to local fitness classes, gyms and studios during FITWEEK through the online FITWEEK Pass accessible at fitweek.net. Try Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Tae Kwon Do, Jiu Jitsu, Salsa and more!
You can also search the new FITWEEK Directory, an online resource for fitness businesses in the Greater New Haven area. Listings for public programs and community spaces will be added soon.
And join the FITWEEK FITWEEK 10K Step Challenge presented by Fitbit! We have five community leaders that have been challenged to walk 10,000 steps a day Monday through Friday of FITWEEK. 10,000 steps is a rough equivalent to the U.S. Surgeon General’s recommendation to accumulate 30 minutes of activity most days of the week, which is proven to help you stay healthy and fit. Everyone is encouraged to join the challenge by signing up on the FITWEEK website! A special 'step-off' event will be held at Bishops Orchards on Saturday, September 29.
FITWEEK provides a turnkey program that offers the community FREE access to local fitness businesses and resources, provides online tools, and coordinates a collaborative branded marketing campaign to participating entities. FITWEEK helps fitness businesses meet new potential clients, and assists non-fitness businesses or organizations in providing a service that cultivates a healthy workforce and community.
