Flavorful New Haven
New Haven Food and Wine Festival at Yale Tennis Center was worth it!
The New Haven Open is in progress at Yale. It is a great way for Connecticut residents to see some really good tennis right in our own backyard. And if that is not reason enough, this foodie was delighted to find out that a grand tasting event was planned for last evening at the Food and Wine Festival at Yale Tennis Center. All the big names of New Haven’s culinary landscape gathered under one tent to bring to us the flavorful world of New Haven.
My favorite fellow foodie and I could not resist this wonderful opportunity to sample some of New Haven’s best. We enjoyed delicious offerings from our all time favorites like Barcelona, Thali, Oaxaca Kitchen and Caseus. We also savored our first taste teasers from restaurants we had not visited before. Names like Heirloom and Zinc are making it on my permanent list.
Each restaurant brought one sweet and one savory dish for diners to sample. Some brought extra goodies to showcase their wide range of talent. How perfect!
