New Business in Town Helps Business in Town
A valuable new resource for local businesses opened in North Haven recently.

Jim Lamb, the Manager of Business Development for SARAH, Inc. addressed the North Haven Rotary Club recently and provided an interesting opportunity for the employers of the community. He explained that a new business in town called SARAH, Inc. provides a "unique workforce" that operates in a win/win partnership with local businesses, permitting job opportunities for intellectually challenged citizens in the area.
Established in Guilford in 1957, long before special education rights were legislated in the state, three families banned together in support of their children with special needs. Initially focused on educational goals, they moved on to teaching their children skills for independent living, and eventually added basic employment skills. Examples of employers in the area hiring SARAH clients include supermarkets, light industry with repetitive piece work, and businesses that may need workers for general cleaning, stuffing envelopes, or sorting and/or stacking products.
Lamb emphasised the superior quality of the work, as well as the reliability of the workers. Located at 555 Washington Avenue, further information can be found at www.sarah-inc.org.
