Car Stolen From North Haven Found Damaged In Hartford: Police
Police said the car was heavily damaged after an accident that the suspects ran away from.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A vehicle recently stolen from Rimmon Road in North Haven was found Wednesday night in Hartford, according to police.
Police said the car was heavily damaged after an accident that the suspects ran away from.
“A portable radio / scanner was also located in the vehicle,” North Haven Police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Additionally, it was originally reported the owner was in possession of both key sets. This led many people to believe an electronic device was used to defeat the vehicle lock / ignition. Upon searching the vehicle, the fob for the push to start was located in the driver’s door pocket. Some push to start vehicles will not lock if the fob is within the vehicle.

“Not only does this leave your car unlocked, but without even locating the keys, criminals can push the start button and have success. Please remember to lock your vehicles and make sure the keys are removed.”
