NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven football team’s season came to an end with a 35-13 quarterfinal loss to No. 2 Hand Tuesday night at the Surf Club in Madison. The seventh-seeded Indians finished with an 8-3 record, while the Tigers (10-1) advanced to a semifinal showdown with No. 3 Windsor on Sunday afternoon.
North Haven’s Mark Montano, the SCC Co-Player of the Year, spent much of Monday night and early Tuesday morning in the hospital because of an ulcer but managed to score two touchdowns in the loss, Sean Patrick Bowley of GameTimeCT reports.
Hand was led by a tenacious defense and Brian Casagrande, who scored three rushing touchdowns including a backbreaking 41-yard run early in the third quarter.
