Continued Expansion for North Haven Education Foundation
The local education foundation which focuses on ways to supplement programs and materials in the schools has been expanding its membership.

As the chief executive of The North Haven Education Foundation, Inc., Bernard Pellegrino has announced that the board of directors continues to expand its membership. The chairman recently confirmed that Joseph M. Solimene has volunteered to serve on the foundation which focuses on raising funds to supplement public education in the community.
When the prospective member was introduced in the fall, he indicated that he was the father of three children presently attending Green Acres Elementary School, and has a child who will be entering school next fall.
A resident of the state since 2000, Solimene said that he grew up in Bronxville, New York, graduated from Florida State University just prior to moving to Connecticut, and earned a law degree at Quinnipiac University. The following year he received an LL.M at American University, practiced law in New York City and Stamford for a few years, and eventually moved to North Haven in 2009, largely due to the quality of the schools.

Three years later, Solimene opened a private practice on Linsley Street. In his letter of application, the apparently accomplished young attorney addressed the foundation stating that he “is excited to join the board and help promote its unique mission in enriching the educational experience for North Haven children.”
Having litigated “matters in multiple state and federal courts” throughout the country, the local attorney has been very active in the community which has included coaching baseball for Max Sinoway. In addition to serving as one of the co-chairs of the New Haven County Bar Association’s Public Service Committee since 2014, he stated that he is a member of its executive committee, and volunteers to help organize and coach its annual L.A.W. Camp “which focuses on installing a lifelong love of learning and a career in the law for 13-15 year old greater New Haven area students.”
