Daytime Gardeners Team With Girl Scouts to Sponsor Woodsy Owl Poster Contest

ENTER NATIONAL POSTER CONTEST

Hey Kids... Can you Help me make a poster!

The Daytime Gardeners and the Quinnipiac Valley Girl Scouts are working together to sponsor the Woodsy Owl Poster Contest this year. Girls and boys in grades one through five are invited to participate on January 10, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Girl Scout Office, 20 Washington Avenue, North Haven. The Frightened Frog: An Environmental Tale will be read and a brief discussion will focus on how to “care for the land” (the Woodsy Owl motto) using the 4 Rs: Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, Rot! Children will then create their own poster for the National Garden Clubs 2017 contest. Materials will be provided, but participants may bring their favorite drawing media.

Local winners will be entered in the state contest, and state winners will be entered in the national contest.
