Rebecca Martorelli, on far left, recently conducted a tour of the gardens at her home for the Daytime Gardeners of North Haven, grouped on her right.
"Becky" is an ARS Consulting Rosarian, a member of AOLCP through NOPA. She has achieved the designation of an Advanced Master Gardener through the program at UConn.
On the 4-1/2 acres surrounding her palatial home in Meriden, are gardens containing hundreds of roses among many other varieties of flowers and specimen trees.
There is also a separate boxed vegetable garden enclosed by a decorative fence, fronted by more roses. No poisons are ever used to control pests.

Becky spends three to four hours daily to plant, transplant and weed the gardens, using her multi talented tractor for the "heavy stuff."
Next on her "work in progress" agenda is planting on the banks of a stream with a bridge crossing at the far end of the property.
