Driver Crashed Into Home In Stolen Car: North Haven Police

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven woman is accused of striking a police cruiser and crashing into a home in a stolen vehicle last May in North Haven, according to police.

Ahdazsha Brunson, 30, was arrested on a warrant around 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning in connection with the incident, police said.

Police responded to the area of Bassett Road and Corey Road in May 2023 on the report of a suspicious vehicle with a person possibly trying to enter vehicles, according to officials.

“Upon arrival to the area a suspect vehicle fled after observing our officers, striking a cruiser in the process,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Several moments later we received a report of a vehicle crashed into a house on Mill Road.”

Police said the vehicle that crashed into the Mill Road house was found to be the same vehicle that fled from officers, and had been stolen out of Windsor.

The suspect left the area after the crash and wasn’t found, according to police.

Police said detectives took over the investigation and Brunson was identified as the suspect.

Brunson was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, disobeying officer signal, evading responsibility, and illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension.
