DUI Arrest In Crash That Seriously Injured Victim: North Haven PD

Police say the woman was operating at three times the legal limit when she went through a red light and crashed into another vehicle.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Norwich woman was arrested Friday in connection with a DUI crash that seriously injured another driver this past summer, according to North Haven Police.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on July 9 at the intersection of Hartford Turnpike and Dixwell Avenue in North Haven. Police found that a woman went through the intersection, struck a vehicle and collided with a metal utility pole.

The victim sustained several broken ribs and a fractured scapula, according to police.

Police suspected that the driver of the vehicle that went through a red light before colliding with the victim was under the influence of alcohol.

“After obtaining a search warrant, and with the assistance of the Connecticut Division of Scientific Services, officers learned the driver was three times the legal limit to drive a vehicle,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.

Christine Evans-Bradley, 46, of Norwich, was taken into custody on Dec. 27. She was charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, DUI and violation of a traffic control signal. Evans-Bradley was held on a $50,000 bond.
