Elderly Woman Victim Of Gift Card Scam: North Haven Police

Police are asking for help with identifying a man they say used gift cards that an elderly woman paid for through her social security funds.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man they say used gift cards that were funded by an elderly woman in Illinois through a scam. The man, pictured, bought items with gift cards at the Target store on Universal Drive in North Haven on March 3, according to police.

“The cards were funded by an elderly female from DeKalb, Illinois, who was conned into putting her social security funds onto gift cards, and then providing gift card information to the suspect,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Help us work with DeKalb PD and ID this suspect.”
